So I've decided to dip my hand in the XC/trail racing/riding pool this year and this is the bike that i've built up for the task. I've only parking lot tested it thus far but i'm diggin it i must say. Well....the xtr dual control shifters not so much but they can get changed out eventually. Crappy picture I know and I could only link it from PB to get it on here. Yes i'm that incapable with computers....whatever, check it out.

That looks pretty sweet. Dude you don't mess around with your bikes. Your M6 is still one of the nicest rides I've seen in a long time.

@streetgang I heard all his torque broke another frame? ;)

Looks pretty sick to me.  Nice wheels as well.

People seem to love or hate the XTR dual control shifters.  I was of the love camp.  I found them intuitive and long ride friendly (when your hands go numb to the point that you can't operate trigger shifters it really sucks.)  I say give them a fair shot, as they certainly are different, but a lot of people still don't jive with them all the same.

brett has one in red. pictures do not do the bike any justice. when i saw one first hand, it changed my views on spending more than five grand for a bike. i like the head tube area where it connects with the down tube and top tube especially, very sweet ride indeed.

has a wet and muddy dh bike.

Nice! I've had dual control shifters on my XC bike for a few years now. Once you get used to them they are OK.  Makes for a nice clean cockpit..
One issue though is that you don't have much (if any) option for upgrading the levers similar to what you can do with most brake systems..

Curious, are those hydraulic? Mine were mech., and I've always wondered if they came in hydro in that year.

yeah they are hydraulic and to be fair i haven't given them much opportunity yet at all to really judge if I like them or not.  To be determined i guess.

If I could find one fault with them for me it was that the could shift several gears up but only one gear down.  I find that I usually find myself wanting to downshift faster as opposed to vice versa.  Minor inconvenience though.

^^ They were designed for rapid rise/low normal derailleurs (that's why).  I actually really liked mine, you can shift from anywhere on the bar, which is nice if your doing a long smooth climb or riding on the road for a stretch.  Plus, they look kinda cool.  Changing cables was a bit irritating though.  Had to take to practically dissect them.

Nice ride!
